Research interests

Principal investigator of numerous cohort studies of drug users, studying heroin, opiods, cocaine, alochol, tobacco, marijuana, etc. Genetics of addiction. Comprehensive cancer control and prevention, and epidemiologic assessments thereof. Program assessment and outcomes analyses. Public policy analysis, including issues related to humans subject research, HIPAA and FERPA. Epidemiologic studies of asthma, HIV/AIDS and other human retroviruses (HTLV's) and related laboratory initiatives, human mycoplasmas, (cystosarcoma) phyllodes tumors of the female breast, malignancies in persons at HIV risk and in other cohort studies, occupational risks. Collaborator on multiple research projects with respect to study design, epidemiology, statistical analysis, data management, public health. Application of epidemiologic principles to public health. Critical analysis of literature. Development and utilization of biospecimen repositories.
