Single-stranded DNA geminiviruses evolve quickly and emerge frequently on crops. Laboratory experiments, field work and bioinformatics will be combined to examine the role of mutation, recombination and migration on the diversity of geminiviruses worldwide, and in New Jersey. The resulting publications from this work will influence management of single-stranded DNA virus outbreaks.
