THE BIOECONOMY: TECHNOLOGICAL AND POLICY PATH FORWARD

Project Details

Description

The proposed workshop will provide a context for a broad discussion regarding the development of the bio-economy. It will uncover new insights about the state of the science related to applied economics and renewable energy policy as well as green chemistry. Industry and academia experts, as well as policymakers, will have the opportunity to examine the interrelationship of biofuel production and biomass-based chemicals. The proposed workshop will advance knowledge about policy effectiveness and identify gaps that we need to overcome so to achieve a viable and sustainable multi-function bio-economy. National policymakers, regional development centers, and local communities will be able to better understand policy implications of their choices and ultimate decisions through the dissemination and outreach performed using the workshop by-products (special issue on the topic, factsheet, book, video archive, and social media conversations).
