N2 - The title compound, (+)-10,13-dioxo-2α,4aβ,6aα,6bα, 9,9,12aβ-heptamethyl-1,2,3,4,4a,5,6,6a,6b,7,8,8aα,9,10,11,12,12a, 12bα,13,14bα-eicosahydropicene-2β-carboxylic acid, C 30H44O4, aggregates as carboxyl-to-ketone hydrogen-bonding catemers. Hydrogen bonds progress from the carboxyl group of one molecule to the remote-ring ketone group of a translationally related neighbor in an adjoining cell connected by a common a cell-edge [O⋯O = 2.766 (3) Å and O-H⋯O = 163Æ], yielding chains that extend in the [011] direction. In the crystal structure, there are also four C-H⋯O close contacts. λ 2006 International Union of Crystallography All rights reserved.
