Abstract

This paper presents an application of fuzzy clustering to information retrieval from a criminal history data base. A modified fuzzy ISODATA algorithm is utilized for the design of the information retrieval system. The effects of the initial centroids and weighting exponent on both the system's performance and CPU time are studied.
