Abstract

Image analysis systems are becoming important tools in both clinical practice and laboratory research. In this paper, we discuss a computer workstation-based system for biomedical image analysis in terms of its general architecture, data structures, and important functional components. The system has been applied to several different types of image analysis problems, which we illustrate with rep-resentative examples.
