Abstract

Aluminum tensile adhesion to alumina composites containing varying volume fractions of borosilicate glass was examined. Alumina composites were found to bond to aluminum at a reaction temperature of 800°C with tensile bond strengths of 62 MPa observed for composites containing 15% glass.
