N2 - A printed meander line loaded tri-band monopole antenna is proposed. The proposed antenna acts like a folded monopole at 656 MHz, while at lower frequency bands, i.e., 345 and 450 MHz, the CPW line is excited with its odd mode, resulting in radiation from the top edge of the ground plane. The measured gain of the proposed antenna is 1.2, 0.9, and 1.5 dBi at 345, 450 and 656 MHz respectively. The total size of the antenna is only 267×220 mm, which is 0.31×0.26λ2 at 350 MHz.
