Abstract

The paper focuses on the application of curvilinear coordinate generation techniques to the computation of internal flows. It is divided into three major sections. First, a brief review of applications of grid generation techniques in internal flows is presented. Due to the impending publication of a major review article on grid generation covering up to mid 1981, the present discussion focuses on a number of recent publications. Second, a simple method for generating orthogonal or nearly orthogonal curvilinear grids with controlled mesh spacing is presented. Third, a current research problem in generation of three dimensional internal flow grids is discussed.
