Abstract

By means of a lattice model of the pore space, an analysis has been made of alternating processes of mercury intrusion and extraction. General relationships have been established for the changes in the degree of filling the pore space with mercury as the pressure is raised and lowered. Formulas have been derived for calculating the curves for extraction, secondary intrusion, and secondary extraction in a lattice consisting of cavities and throats.
