Abstract

The Be14 nucleus has been produced in the reaction C14(-,+). The cross section for the reaction is roughly that which would be expected from the A-43 mass dependence observed for nonanalog (+,-) reactions on self-conjugate nuclei. If it is the ground state that we observe, the mass excess of Be7 is 1\4600 keV smaller (more bound) than expected from systematics.
