Abstract

Configurability of a three-wavelength Raman fiber laser (RFL) for gain ripple minimization and power partitioning was discussed. The performance of a 3λRFL with variable output coupler (OC) reflectivities was investigated in 60-km, 100-km and 140 km transmission spans. A gain ripple minimum of 1.1 dB in a 100-km span was achieved with an OC voltage precision of 25 mV.
