Abstract
Studies of 5-bromodeoxyuridine (BUdR)-resistance with regenerated plants from the BUdR-resistant BR23 cell line of Nicotiana tabacum have revealed that resistance is controlled by a simple Mendelian factor. Selfing of BR23 plants and crosses of BR23 plants X sensitive plants produced progency which could be classified as resistant, intermediate in resistance and sensitive to BUdR. Resistance was determined from the growth of calli from seedlings on a BUdR medium.
