Abstract

A method of using a buoyant polypropylene membrane floated on liquid medium to culture asparagus cells and protoplasts was examined. Compared with direct culture in lquid medium the method using a polypropylene membrane was found to be superior for small-volume culture of cells at low density as well as for the culture of protoplasts.
