Abstract

The 164-MeV angular distribution for the non-analog double charge exchange reaction O16(+, -)Ne16(g.s.) has been measured and is found to be basically diffractive. This is contrasted with the previously measured analog distribution for O18(+, -)Ne18 (double isobaric analog) which is not diffractive. NUCLEAR REACTIONS O16(+, -)Ne16(g.s.); E=164 MeV, =0°-50°; measured (), non-analog transition, eikonal fit to angular distribution.
