Abstract

High-quality single crystals samples of La1/4Pr 3/8Ca3/8MnO3 were investigated. A spatially resolved direct spectroscopic probe was used for the purpose of analysis of electronic structure. The probe had an additional sensitivity to chemical compositions. Formation of distinct insulating domains embedded in the metallic host at low temperatures was established. The domains were found to be at least an order of magnitude larger in size as compared to previous estimates.
