Elections in Hungary achilles, the winner

Abstract

Viktor Orbán's re-election as president in Hungary's elections held in April 2014 was made possible due to a variety of factors - the illegitimacy of the "liberal" opposition, change in voting rules and the general scepticism against the electoral process in Hungary among others. His new government may find that it has quite a different country to run this time: overall more sceptical and less responsive to empty gestures or political manoeuvring.
