Abstract

Vapour deposition of hexamethyl(Dewar benzene) or hexamethylprismane onto solid dioxydenyl hexafluoroantimonate at liquid nitrogen temperature followed by warming the sample to room temperature gives rise to 13-line EPR spectra with binomial intensities (g = 2.0025 ± 0.0004; A = 10.7 ± 0.1 G), which are very similar to the spectra previously observed at cryogenic temperatures upon radiolysis of hexamethyl(Dewar benzene).
