Abstract

As compared with learning that the majority of a price paid (for an assessment test being for a tangible-good, in this paper we find that believing the higher percentage of the price paid was for a service component instead (evaluation of the test) led to lower feelings of fairness and generated more upward counterfactual thoughts.
