Abstract
Many HIV seropositive couples in the US are now seeking to become pregnant and build a family. These couples present the unique challenge of protecting the uninfected partner, the newborn baby, and the public at large from viral transmission. Over the past 20 years, strategies developed to treat these patients have been shown to be both safe and effective. Appropriately selected HIV-seropositive couples may now be offered fertility treatments in properly equipped centers.
