N2 - The M1 transitions of 43Ca, which would vanish if one used f 7 23 configurations only, are calculated including all the 2p-1f shell configurations. The M1 transitions of 41Ar are also discussed. The effects of low-lying core excited states, i.e. five-particle-two-hole states, are estimated and found to be insignificant because of special properties of the M1 operator.
