Abstract

This review will summarize pituitary development and function, as well as review defects in transcription factor genes PROP1 and POU1F1, which play a critical role in pituitary cell differentiation. These selected factors have been well described in patients with hypopituitarism and therefore are very relevant to clinical practice.
