Abstract

The historical and epistemological aspects of group theory in physics were discussed. The contribution of Hermann Weyl, Elie Cartan and Claude Chevalley of XXXth century were analyzed at the meeting. The removal of psychological , cultural and epistemological obstacles using mathematical and scientific analysis was also discussed in the meeting. The special session on the historical and epistemological aspects was of key importance and had a special place as an interlude between the invited plenary talks and the remainder of volume containing contributed talks and posters.
