Abstract

Late infection of the temporomandibular joint (TMJ) prosthesis is a rare complication.1 To our knowledge, this is the first reported case of an infected total TMJ prosthesis occurring from possible hematogenous bacterial seeding in an intravenous (IV) drug abuser.
