Abstract

An infrared (IR) fiber receiver has been developed for use in detectinq CO2 laser pulses. In the first phase of the development we measured the optical and mechanical properties of our KRS-5 IR fibers between -40 and 40°C. In the second phase we built a simple demonstration device consisting of a 10-m-lenqth of fiber and a HqCdTe detector.
