Integrated production planning and scheduling optimization of multi-site, multi-product process industry

Abstract

The current manufacturing environment has changed from traditional single-site plant to multi-site plants serving a global market. In this paper, the integrated planning and scheduling problem for multi-site batch plants is considered and solved using the augmented lagrangian method. To resolve the issues of non-separable cross-product terms in the augmented lagrangian relaxation, we apply diagonal approximation method. Results show that the proposed method yield significant computational time savings.
