Intermittent breathing on heart rate variability assessment of cardiovascular control

Abstract

The effects of intermittent breathing on cardiovascular regulation by tachogram and spectral analyses of heart rate variability (HRV) are studied based on Fourier transform and autoregression model. Comparison of HRV at spontaneous and intermittent breathing shows an increase in mean heart rate and increased variability during intermittent heating.
