Abstract

As intraoperative monitoring becomes more prevalent for evaluation of cerebral dysfunction, the EEG technician should recognize the responses of the brain to a variety of drugs or pathophysiologic conditions. This paper demonstrates both a method for EEG analysis and the gross subtle changes found in the EEG during general anesthesia which make the Fourier transform/CSA plot a valuable tool for current EEG technology.
