Abstract
Ion-hopping kinetics were studied by using the 3-arm star polyisobutylene-based model ionomers terminated by sodium sulfonate groups. These materials behave like crosslinked networks with thermolabile ionic aggregates between the trifunctional chemical crosslinks. Dynamic mechanical data at low temperature confirmed that these polymers are covalently crosslinked and that they contain only multiplets (quartets) as thermolabile linkages.
