Issues surrounding supervisory control of batch manufacturing systems

Research output: Contribution to journalConference article

Abstract

For production systems where the products are made in low volume, batch processing or manufacturing is suitable. Batch processing is quite common in pharmaceutical and food manufacturing applications. The supervisory controller in a batch manufacturing system must be capable of handling different control functions for different production batches. In this paper, this is discussed in more detail and described are some existing formal models for the specification and verification of supervisory controllers. Also discussed are the specifies for the batch manufacturing systems.
