Kondo-stabilized spin liquids and heavy fermion superconductivity

Abstract

We summarize an SU(2) path integral formulation of a Kondo lattice model for heavy fermion systems that treats the RKKY interaction explicitly. Main results: (1) the Kondo effect stabilizes formation of a spin liquid amongst f-spins; (2) spin liquids induce off-diagonal resonant scattering in the conduction sea, generating superconductivity.
