Abstract
Electromechanical properties of MPB composition (Bi 0.486Na 0.426K 0.12Ba 0.028TiO 3) in the system of BiNT-BiKT-BT have been investigated. The conventional processing method has been used to prepare the samples. Dielectric behavior of the MPB composition indicates a phase transition at about 150°C. High temperature polarization measurements also confirmed the phase transition, which represents antiferroelectric behavior at 160 C. A relatively high d 33 of 183±5 pC/N, a tanδ of 2.1%, a dielectric constant of 750, a Curie temperature of 295°C with thickness and planar coupling coefficients of 55%, and 35% have been obtained. High piezoelectric coefficient with higher thickness coupling coefficients makes this composition, a promising candidate as a lead-free piezoelectric ceramics.
