Measuring member satisfaction in the psychiatric milieu

Research output: Contribution to journalArticlepeer-review

Abstract

This paper describes the development of and initial results from a short, paper and pencil instrument designed to measure member satisfaction with community based psychiatric milieu. The focus of the Member Satisfaction Scale (MSS) was solely determined by psychiatric rehabilitation program members. The MSS demonstrates good internal consistency. The validity of the MSS was estimated using self-report measures of optional and subjective program involvement. Initial results suggest that such an instrument is best utilized for periodic measures of the same program rather than for cross program comparisons.
