Abstract
Applications of earth science remote sensing data through the remote sensing information partner (RSIP) program at NASA/Goddard Earth Science (GES) Data and Information Service Center (DISC) were discussed. The RSIP program aims at providing participating institutions inexpensive access to globally covered GES data holdings and enable acquisitions of any or all of these data. The data products developed are expected to provide a high temporal resolution but coarser spatial resolution image of vegetation and land surface climatological dynamics of the Mid-Atlantic region. Some Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) Level-1 B and land surface datasets were processed and tested by image processing software and GIS packages.
