Abstract

This section of the book examines the intersections between conceptual change and three practices that are central to inquiry: modeling, explanation, and argumentation. The six chapters in this section, together with the concluding synthesis, describe a variety of instructional interventions and research programs that help us understand the central role that these three practices can play in conceptual change.
