Abstract

The problem of an elastic strip which is closed on itself and bonded over an interior region is considered for the case where the edges of the strip are subjected to transverse loading. Equilibrium configurations of the looped system are determined and propagation behaviour of the boundaries of the bonded region are investigated. Numerical results are presented for specific strip/adherend systems, demonstrating representative behaviour.
