Photoelectron studies of trans-polyacetylene using synchrotron radiation

Abstract

We report the results of studies of trans-polyacetylene by photoelectron spectroscopy using synchrotron radiation, in the photon energy in the range from 27 to 125 eV. The relative intensities of the individual peaks in the photoelectron emission spectra are observed to depend significantly on the photon energy. These results compare favorably with theoretical calculations of energy-dependent photoionization cross sections.
