Abstract

During Leg 150, May-July 1993, holes were drilled at Sites 902-906 and geophysical surveys were undertaken on route between Lisbon Harbour, Portugal and St. Johns, Newfoundland. Building on the results of DSDP Legs 93 and 95 and the result of industry studies on the New Jersey margin, Leg 150 is the first ODP Leg to address sea-level history recorded in siliciclastic sequences from a passive margin. Following a brief introductory chapter, chapter 2 gives background information on the margin and discusses the relative merits of eustatic records and oxygen isotopic methods for the determination of sea-level data. Explanatory notes and details of the underway geophysics are then given. Chapter 5 outlines gamma-ray measurement procedures. The site chapters follow, providing initial results for each site in turn. -S.J.Stone
