Abstract
The effect of glyceroglucolipids of gastric secretion on the activation of pepsinogen was investigated. Both neutral and sulfated glyceroglucolipids promoted the activation of pepsinogen; however, the sulfated glyceroglucolipids were considerably more effective. The promotion of activation was pH dependent and occurred mainly at pH range of 3.5-4.5, with the maximum effect at pH 4.0.
