Abstract

The basic scaling laws of dielectric optical accelerators were examined. The efficiency, emittance and heat flow scaling laws that were developed recently were presented. The interaction impedance of the photonic band-gap structure was analyzed. The three dimensional simulations of a bunch of 30GeV electrons indicated that the relative change in the emittance was affected by the transverse dimension. The group velocity was found to be 0.58c and the maximum possible efficiency was found to be 7.86%.
