Severe left ventricular dysfunction in a patient with scleroderma

Research output: Contribution to journalArticlepeer-review

Abstract

In this patient, dobutamine stress echocardiography was used to determine whether to perform angioplasty of her epicardial coronary arteries. However, the results showed diffuse myocardial scarring with limited viability. Increased use of echocardiography in patients with scleroderma should provide earlier diagnosis of cardiac involvement than was possible in this patient who already had irreversible left ventricular dysfunction.
