Abstract

This study describes a simple, sturdy, hydration jacket which costs a few pennies in material and requires 2-3 h of machining time to construct. The device is mounted directly on an ATR crystal, which in turn is held in a standard holder. The effectiveness of the device is demonstrated through studies of the pH dependence of the IR spectrum of films of dipalmitoylphosphatidylserine (DPPS).
