Abstract
Fourth-sound-like propagation in superfluid He4 in a grafoil-filled resonator has been observed. The sound velocity was found to be more than an order of magnitude smaller than that of ordinary fourth sound. This significant reduction can be explained by picturing the pore structure in grafoil as an ensemble of coupled Helmholtz resonators.
