Spectral and stability questions concerning evolution of non-autonomous linear systems

Abstract

The results of recent numerical and theoretical studies on the long time behavior of quantum systems with time dependent Hamiltonians driven by stationary ergodic external fields are reviewed. The basic set up consists of a separable Hilbert space H with a given time independent, essentially self adjoint operator H0 acting on H. The time dependent as well as random perturbations of H0 are best modeled by considering a continuous map H1 taking values in the set of essentially self adjoint operators on H, defined on a compact metric space Ω.
