Abstract

Existing networks are used for monitoring several physical phenomena, such as contamination level in soil and water, climate, building structure, habitat, and so on, potentially in remote harsh environments [1,2]. They have also found several interesting applications in industrial engineering and inventory management, such as monitoring the quality of perishable food items, as well as in transportation and traffic control [3,4].
