Abstract
Strategic design and innovation in an Experimental laboratory for Production by Center for Industrial Production (CIP) was discussed. The CIP application program included action research that explores the dynamic and complex interconnections among strategy, organizational learning, organizational structure, technology, people and process. The focus of the program was on developing and evaluating pragmatic methods and frameworks for facilitating dialog-based manufacturing strategy developed by use of generic manufacturing concepts. Consistent with the CIP framework, the ELP was intended to serve as a natural bridge between Danish industry on the one side and the various CIP Ph.D. projects on the other side.
