STUDIES OF NUCLEAR PROTEINS IN DNA REPAIR.

Research output: Contribution to conferencePaperpeer-review

Abstract

Using a novel biochemical system, a series of chromatin associated nuclear proteins that interact in specific ways with each other and with DNA have been isolated and partially purified. A number of these selectively cleave DNA containing different types of adducts. These proteins have been shown to interact with each other and with DNA in a number of unexpected ways. It is suggested that combining this biochemical system with morphimetric systems will allow morphimetrics to elucidate a number of cellular processes at the molecular level that currently can only be studied biochemically.
