Abstract

Novel rigid-rod and tripodal chromophores, bearing carboxylic and phosphonic acid binding groups, were synthesized to study the dynamics of electron injection at the interface of titanium dioxide semiconductor nanoparticles. The synthesis, binding studies to semiconductor nanoparticles and photovoltaic cell applications, are presented. This is an abstract of a paper presented at the 230th ACS National Meeting (Washington, DC 8/28/2005-9/1/2005).
