Abstract
By immersing aluminium specimens in a zincate solution, zinc coatings were formed on aluminium substrates. The tensile behaviour of zinc coated aluminium specimens was examined in the strain rate range 0.001-0.1 s-1; the ultimate tensile strength, the yield strength and the fracture strain were found to increase with increasing strain rate for a constant thickness of zinc coating.
