Abstract

A computer‐based system for consultation about clinical rheumatology has been built, using artificial intelligence principles. Testing of this approach addresses a number of problems familiar in the field of continuing medical education. These include delivery of information at the time and place it is needed, evaluation of the quality of observations of patients, and recognition of the need for further education.
